Background

Dr. Bernhard Heringhaus has been working as a lawyer for Schindhelm in Osnabrück since 1993 and has been managing partner from 2000 until 2025. He is responsible for the Schindhelm Allianz offices in Bucharest and Paris and, since October 2025, Of Counsel of Schindhelm Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Osnabrück. 

From 2000 to 2004, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. From 1989 to 1990, he was a research assistant at the Institute for Commercial and Business Law at the University of Osnabrück, Prof. Dr. Baums.

After successfully completing his studies at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, specializing in agriculture, and graduating as a graduate engineer in agriculture in 1984, Dr. Bernhard Heringhaus studied law at the University of Osnabrück from 1984 to 1989. 1989 First State Examination in Law. 1993 Second State Examination in Law. Doctorate in law 1994.
Dr. Bernhard Heringhaus has been admitted to the bar in Bucharest since 27.02.2006 and as a bar in Paris since 24.06.2024.


Dr. Bernhard Heringhaus advises domestic and foreign companies, in particular in connection with foreign investments. He has extensive experience in advising on national and cross-border transactions as well as on employment and contract law.

In addition, he advises companies in the field of restructuring.

Acting as a trustee in the form of the provision and management of trust accounts, including in the context of debt protection and transfer companies.

Bernhard Heringhaus regularly lectures and publishes, especially on cross-border topics.

He is a member of the Canadian German Lawyers Association, the Economic Council of the CDU e.V. and the International Lawyers' Association Osnabrück.

Advising a company from the chemical industry in connection with its withdrawal from the employers' association and the associated discontinuation of collective bargaining coverage.

Advising a plastics manufacturer in connection with a corruption case in a Romanian subsidiary, including corporate law advice.

Supporting a medium-sized packaging company in a comprehensive corporate law dispute, including the redemption of company shares.

Supporting an Austrian logistics company in connection with the enforcement of claims in Romania.

Assisting a major German office furniture manufacturer in setting up a subsidiary in France.
